It has been a busy and gratifying school year here at the RFLSB. Here is a list of some of the things that have been accomplished by our dedicated students, staff, faculty, and administration.
Melvin L. Rose Jr. is a sophomore and a marketing major at Virginia State University who recently joined the Wells Fargo team as a Personal Banker. Rose’s responsibilities include initiating, cultivating, and strengthening relationships with new and existing customers.
Virginia State University’s Reginald F. Lewis School of Business (RFLSB) has received yet another distinction. The School has been named the “Best Business Program at an HBCU” by The Center for HBCU Media Advocacy. The Center annually recognizes a program which has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and community contributions in research academic exposition and professional development.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion kicks off the 2012 season by welcoming 18 partner schools from across the U.S. This innovative case-study competition gives college students the opportunity to work through real-world business challenges and scenarios provided by NASCAR and its various industry stakeholders, such as official partners, teams and tracks.

Few things excite a college student like free pizza so when the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Institute of Management Accountants generously offered to host over 30 Accounting and Finance students for a Lunch and Learn, it wasn’t difficult to secure participants.
On October 20th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Reginald F. Lewis School of Business hosted nine companies including Dominion, Dupont, Nationwide Insurance, Clark Nexsen, Rolls Royce, Barton Malow, Outback Steakhouse, Mazda and Bryant & Stratton College for Night Out With Industry.
A relatively new relationship with the Federal Reserve is already bearing fruit. The Reginald F. Lewis School of Business convened an on-campus workshop for more than 80 students. Mr. Travis Robinson, Manager of Recruiting and Campus Relations for the Federal Reserve led a session which included a group discussion and one-on-one interviews for more than 20 RFLSB students.
